Cross country skiing and alpine skiing
Winter time you can cross country ski at Kontiolahti (4 km) and Koli
(30 km) trail network or on icy lake.
During the winter, Ukko-Koli is a busy winter sport centre. Ukko-Koli
boasts the highest FIS slopes with 230 metres of height difference and
800-1500 metre-long slopes. Joint tickets allow visitors use of both
the Ukko-Koli and Loma-Koli slopes, which together offer 10 ski slopes,
a snowboard street and half pipe.

Snowmobiles
From Kontiolahti you can find several snowmobile trails to Joensuu and
Koli. If you want to rent snowmobile or go to safari we can arrange
it for you.

Fishing
You can fish at Lake Höytiäinen by angling, trolling or net
even in winter time when Lake has solid ice deck. Kankikoski Salmon
offers natural fishing of Salmon on the rapids.
Golf
Karelia Golf was founded in 1987. The lakeside course is located on
a Carelian heathland. The course will not let you down. Practice options
include a Range, putting and pitching greens.

Tennis
In center of Kontiolahti village's sport center you can find three tennis
fields and you can use it for free.
Hiking and Nordic walking
You can find hiking trails from Sirnihta to National Park Koli. On the
journey there is camp fire places and old sleeping cabins. Koli hinking
trail is over 75 kilometers and shows lot of Finnish nature.

Nature and culture trail
There is short nature and culture trail from the center of Kontiolahti.
It is about 4 kilometer long and goes near by Lake Höytiäinen.
Kolvana Uuro
The small and narrow valley of Kolvanan Uuro, densely wooded and home
to typical Scandinavian woodland birds including Greenish Warbler and
Thrush Nightingale. Also present are Hazel Grouse and Capercaillie with
Black-throated Diver on a small lake in the valley. There is about five
kilometer long signposted trail with camp fireplaces.
Climbing
At Kontiovaara you can find place called Vaskikallio which offers superb
experience for those who are adventorious. Also at Koli Natural park
you can climb different routes.
Horse riding
There is two stables 10-15 kilometers away from Sirnihta. These are
Kantelesärkä and Jokiranta stable.
